We are delighted to be partnering up with talented mosaic artist Ruth Ames-White from Wells, who will be hosting our third mosaic craft workshops on Saturday 8th & Saturday 15th November.
Ruth has been a mosaic artist for the past 8 years, and designed one of the famous Wells 'Swans' that decorated the city in 2012. She uses a mixture of mosaic tiles and broken ceramics to create beautiful one-off items. For this workshop Ruth will teach the group how to decorate a Christmas Star, using different mosaic techniques and her signature style.
Arrive at 10.00am for coffee & biscuits. Ruth will introduce techniques and tools required to make the beautiful mosaic hanging star, and then you will get stuck in to creating your masterpiece!
A delicious homemade lunch will follow, and then you have the afternoon to finish your design (tea & yummy cakes will be available too!)
We will finish up around 4.00pm and you will be invited back the following Saturday morning (10am-12pm) to grout your piece.
All tools and materials will be included however please bring an apron & any broken china / ceramics that you might like to incorporate in your design.
We look forward to welcoming you to this fun & creative workshop!
